Find Out How

Dr. Joe Galati is a board-certified liver specialist in Houston, Texas. For more than 30 years he has practiced in the Texas Medical Center, where he helped build three of the city’s liver transplant programs.

His approach to health started long before medical school. He grew up in a close-knit New York family and was a sickly child who spent a lot of time around doctors. What stayed with him wasn’t the illness. It was their compassion and the way they spoke to him and his parents. That’s the kind of doctor he set out to be, and communication and education are still at the center of his practice.

His childhood also taught him the value of food. In his family, home cooking and shared meals were a way of life.

Today’s most common chronic diseases, including obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes, are closely tied to the obesity epidemic. Processed and ultra-processed foods drive that epidemic: they’re convenient, low in fiber, stripped of nutrients and making us sick. The answer is simple. Avoid processed foods and build your diet around whole, plant-forward foods rich in fiber and nutrients. Eating this way reduces inflammation, supports a healthy gut and helps prevent obesity.

Dr. Galati shares one central message with his patients and his radio audiences nationwide: raise your health IQ. Learn about nutrition, rediscover cooking at home, and understand disease prevention and the symptoms you may experience, because early intervention is key. Good health doesn’t happen by accident. It takes knowledge and planning. Dr. Galati and his team provide both, along with the motivation and practical strategies you need to take control of your health.

Consultations are available in Houston and by telemedicine. Reach out today to take the first step toward better health.
